The underpass is closed to vehicles due to ongoing undergrounding works on the **A-5** route. A surface route with one lane per direction is now active as part of the 350 million euro **Paseo Verde del Suroeste** project. While tunnel excavation is complete, current work focuses on lighting and ventilation before a major connection to **Calle 30** starts. The 3.2km tunnel aims to reconnect neighborhoods divided by 80,000 daily vehicles since 1968.
