Bar Leone named world's best bar for second year

Hong Kong's Bar Leone tops the 50 Best Bars 2026 list in Milan, leading a strong performance for Asian venues in the global rankings.

Bar Leone in Hong Kong has been named the world's best bar for the second consecutive year at the 50 Best Bars 2026 awards in Milan. The venue, opened in 2023 by Lorenzo Antinori, beat Cartagena's Alquímico and Milan's Moebius Milano to the top global spot.

The 2026 rankings highlight a strong performance for Asia, which secured 13 spots in the top 50 and 28 in the top 100. Notable Spanish entries include Sips and Paradiso at 16th and 17th, while Madrid's Angelita climbed into the top 50 under the Villalón brothers.

This year's list reflects shifting dynamics in the global industry, with Bar Leone expanding into Shanghai in 2025. While some bars like Salmon Guru fell in rank, others like Boadas rose significantly, and Paradiso earned the Rémy Martin Legend of the List award.
