# Catalonia activates Inuncat plan for heavy rain

> Protecció Civil issues weather warnings for the central coast and Tarragona as intense rainfall is forecast to hit the region on Monday.

**Protecció Civil** has activated the **Inuncat** plan following forecasts of intense rain across the central coast of **Catalonia** and **Tarragona**. The **Servei Meteorològic de Catalunya** expects rainfall to exceed 20 litres per square metre in 30 minutes on Monday night.

The weather warning initially affects Barcelonès, Baix Llobregat, Garraf, Baix Penedès, and Tarragonès. By Tuesday morning, accumulations may exceed 60 litres per square metre in three hours in Baix Camp, Baix Penedès, and Tarragonès as the storm continues.

Authorities advise reducing mobility and avoiding rivers, streams, and underground passages. Residents are urged not to cross flooded areas or enter basements. If trapped in a building, move to upper floors and avoid parking garages for personal safety.
