Interior Minister Núria Parlon confirmed mobility will be strictly limited. A level five danger alert from Meteocat, active between 07:00 and 17:00, predicts torrential rain and violent storms. Civil Protection is issuing ES-Alerts to mobile phones, while officials recommend teleworking and avoiding all non-essential travel today. In Barcelona, emergency plans for drainage are active following record September heat. Residents are advised to secure roofs, disconnect appliances, and bring pets indoors as the region braces for mistral winds, tramontana, and a sharp drop in temperatures. ## Related news [#GeneralitatDeCatalunya]() [#Catalonia]() 15 September 2026 at 10:50 ## [Catalonia launches €2.5bn school climate plan]() > The Generalitat will invest €2.5 billion by 2031 to install modern cooling and ventilation systems in 2,530 public schools.
