> Spain's Supreme Court maintains a suspension on voting rights for new citizens ahead of the November general elections.

Spain's **Supreme Court** has upheld a precautionary suspension on the right to vote for individuals nationalised under the 'ley de nietos' ahead of the 29 November general elections. The Fourth Section dismissed an appeal by the State Attorney's Office.

The ruling affects children and grandchildren of exiles who gained Spanish nationality via the **Democratic Memory Law**. While the State Attorney's Office reviews the measure's finality, the **PSOE** has labelled the court's decision as an 'outrage' to the process.

The **People's Party** and Vox have welcomed the resolution as a victory for the rule of law and a limit on government census control. Interior Minister **Fernando Grande-Marlaska** criticised the move during a National Holiday reception as the election nears.
