PP president Alberto Núñez Feijóo has visited a dairy firm in Alovera, Guadalajara, to present a shock plan featuring significant tax cuts. The proposal includes a zero percent VAT rate on basic foods such as milk, cheese, oil, eggs, meat, fish and fruit.
The plan aims to reduce energy VAT from 21 to 10 percent and adapt IRPF rates to inflation. Feijóo noted that Spanish IPC rose 4.6 percent over twelve months, exceeding the Eurozone's 3.2 percent, while food prices have surged 41.8 percent since 2018.
Structured into four blocks, the strategy focuses on tax reductions, aid for families with children, lower production costs and reduced bureaucracy. It seeks to address the rising cost of living by easing the financial burden on households and businesses.
