# Guardia Civil liberates 25 women in Ibiza raid

The **Guardia Civil** has liberated 25 women, aged 18 to 25, who were forced into prostitution by a criminal group in **Ibiza**. **Operation Gecaroni** concluded on 5 October with four arrests and the seizure of 120,000 euros following four searches of local properties.

Victims, primarily from vulnerable backgrounds in **Venezuela**, were lured by false hospitality or manicure job offers. Upon arrival, they were told they owed 5,000 euros. The group used video surveillance and messaging apps to control the women in **Platja d'en Bossa**.

The detainees face charges of coercive prostitution, drug trafficking, and money laundering. The operation, involving the UCO and GRS, revealed the group also profited from selling narcotics and sexual enhancers during the summer season in the Balearic Islands.
