Junts withdraws support for Pedro Sánchez

Jordi Turull rules out backing a new investiture for the Prime Minister as Junts per Catalunya calls for his resignation ahead of polls.

Jordi Turull, the secretary general of Junts, has ruled out supporting a new investiture for Pedro Sánchez during an interview with TV3. Citing a failure to meet commitments made to Junts per Catalunya, he confirmed the party will withdraw their backing.

The announcement follows a Constitutional Court ruling that corrected the Supreme Court's interpretation of the Amnesty Law. Meanwhile, Junts spokesperson Miriam Nogueras has called for the Prime Minister to resign to facilitate a change in leadership.

With general elections set for 29 November, polls suggest a PP and Vox majority. While Ernest Urtasun claims the PP would not repeal the Amnesty Law, Nogueras insists Junts will not reach agreements with a right-wing coalition if they form a government.
