Madrid approves 2027 labour calendar holidays

The Community of Madrid has confirmed 14 public holidays for 2027, including San José on 19 March and a four-day Easter break in March.

The Governing Council of the Community of Madrid approved the 2027 labour calendar on Wednesday, 30 September 2026. The schedule confirms 14 public holidays for the region, including two local dates to be determined by individual city councils across the area.

Key dates include Friday 19 March for San José, replacing the Community of Madrid Festival as 2 May falls on a Sunday. Similarly, Monday 16 August is a holiday as the Assumption of the Virgin is moved from Sunday. Madrid city will observe 15 May and 9 November.

The calendar ensures statutory breaks throughout the year, featuring New Year’s Day on a Friday and a four-day Easter weekend in March. Other significant dates include National Day on Tuesday 12 October and Constitution Day, which falls on Monday 6 December 2027.
