# Madrid launches birth and adoption grant scheme

> Eligible families in Madrid can receive up to 1,000 euros for children born or adopted between September 2026 and December 2027.

The **Madrid City Council** has launched its 2026-2027 grant scheme for births and adoptions. Eligible families can receive a one-off payment of 500, 750, or 1,000 euros, with the specific amount determined by the child's birth order among their siblings.

Applicants must be **Spanish nationals** or legal residents registered on the Madrid municipal census for five uninterrupted years before the event. The aid covers babies born or adopted between 1 September 2026 and 31 December 2027, including young children.

This scheme features no income or wealth limits and exempts applicants from being up to date with **Treasury** or **Social Security** obligations. Applications are submitted via the municipal **Electronic Office** or in person within two months of the birth or adoption.
