[#GuardiaCivil]() [#Madrid]() # Madrid man hands in five grenades to Civil Guard 30 August 2026 at 14:00 > A Madrid resident prompted a building evacuation after delivering five inert grenades and ammunition to a Civil Guard office on Thursday. A **Madrid** citizen delivered five explosives and two large-caliber cartridges to the **Civil Guard**'s Arms and Explosives Intervention office on Thursday, 27 August 2026. The haul included two hand grenades and three mortar grenades transported from his home. The Civil Guard building was evacuated to allow the Explosive Ordnance Disposal Group (GEDEX) to neutralize the devices. Following controlled checks, specialists confirmed all five grenades were inert. A formal statement was issued on Sunday, 30 August. Authorities advise that explosive artifacts must never be touched, manipulated, or moved to homes or police stations, even if they appear old. If such items are found, the public should remain clear and immediately contact emergency services on 062 or 112. ## Related news [#Madrid]() #Travel #CondeNastTraveller #SpainTourism #PradoMuseum 5 November 2026 at 17:03 ## [Madrid named among world's best cities for 2026]() > Madrid ranks 17th in the Condé Nast Traveller Reader's Choice Awards, attracting a record 6.6 million foreign visitors so far this year. #SpainElections2026 [#GeneralElection]() [#Madrid]() #Seville #PollingStations 4 November 2026 at 13:12 ## [Spanish councils draw polling station members]() > City councils complete lotteries to select citizens for the November 29 general elections, with notifications due by November 7.
