> Hundreds of educators protest outside the Ministry of Education demanding higher pay, reduced hours and smaller class sizes in Madrid.

The second day of an indefinite teachers' strike in the **Community of Madrid** saw hundreds gather outside the **Ministry of Education** on Thursday. While the administration reported 32.2% participation, unions claimed 60% of staff joined the industrial action.

Protesters demand a 600-euro monthly pay rise, reduced teaching hours, and smaller class sizes. Demonstrations forced the closure of Alcalá Street, while the **CSIF** union requested that salary deductions from strikers be reinvested into the public school system.

The strike committee, including **UGT** and **CC OO**, will continue action on Friday with an evening march from Atocha to Puerta del Sol. Unions seek specific ratios, such as 15 pupils per primary class, to improve conditions across the region's education sector.
