[#Ceuta]() [#PedroSánchez]() [#Morocco]() # No Moroccan link to Ceuta crisis, says Sánchez 31 August 2026 at 09:47 > Spanish intelligence finds no evidence of Moroccan involvement in the July influx of 70,000 migrants into the North African enclave. Prime Minister **Pedro Sánchez** has confirmed that Spanish security and intelligence services found no evidence of Moroccan involvement in the **Ceuta** migration crisis. Around 70,000 people entered the enclave on 30 and 31 July, primarily for economic reasons. Moroccan police were deployed to Castillejos to halt entries, and 90% of arrivals returned shortly after. Currently, 5,000 migrants remain in Ceuta, including 1,200 minors. The government has ruled out mainland transfers, opting to create 6,000 local places. While intelligence reports had predicted seasonal increases in irregular flows, the scale of the July influx was unforeseen. Authorities had reinforced borders and prepared the CETI in advance. Investigations into the specific origins of the event continue. **Morocco** ## Related news [#Ceuta]() [#Spain]() [#Migration]() [#SupremeCourt]() [#PedroSánchez]() 27 October 2026 at 12:50 ## [Court rejects Ceuta's urgent migrant return bid]() > The Spanish Supreme Court has denied Ceuta's request for an immediate migrant expulsion plan following a mass entry of 70,000 people. #SpainTimeChange #WinterTime [#PedroSánchez]() #DaylightSaving #SpanishSleepSociety 23 October 2026 at 17:25 ## [Spain to switch to winter time on 25 October]() > Clocks will go back one hour this Sunday as Spain transitions to winter time amid ongoing government debates regarding the practice.
