National Police began evicting the El Trampolín beach settlement in Ceuta at 7:30 a.m. on Sunday, 4 October 2026. A National Police Intervention Unit van entered the site while a drone monitored the area where approximately 3,000 people live in makeshift tents.
The operation follows the total eviction of the Benítez beach settlement on 29 September. Three heavy vehicles, including two BMRs and a VAMTAC, arrived by boat on 2 October to support the 1,700 personnel deployed since 80,000 people arrived in late July.
Minister Ángel Víctor Torres, leading the single command, confirmed the site will be cleared by 15 October. This deadline precedes a royal visit on 13 October and follows a 2 October announcement that the water at El Trampolín is contaminated with E. coli.
