PP asks Audiencia Nacional to indict PSOE

The Partido Popular has requested the indictment of the PSOE for five crimes, including bribery and embezzlement, in the 'caso Leire'.

The Partido Popular has formally requested that the Audiencia Nacional indict the PSOE for five distinct crimes. The opposition party filed a written request citing bribery, embezzlement, influence peddling, money laundering, and irregular financing.

This legal action forms part of the 'caso Leire', an investigation into a criminal organisation allegedly led by Leire Díez. The probe examines claims that the group was funded by the governing party, following the indictment of the PSOE manager weeks ago.

The complaint alleges criminal conduct by PSOE leadership after Pedro Sánchez's five-day reflection period. It arrives as Spain prepares for general elections on 29 November 2026, following the Prime Minister's decision to dissolve the Cortes on 5 October.
