Seat S.A. celebrated its 75th anniversary in Barcelona in May 2025, amidst reports that the Volkswagen Group brand could be eliminated by 2030. While Seat sales fell 17% to 257,400 units in 2025, the Cupra brand saw a 33% increase, selling 328,800 vehicles.
The Martorell plant, Spain's largest car factory, currently produces the Seat Arona, Ibiza, and Leon alongside the electric Cupra Raval. CEO Markus Haupt confirmed all Seat models will be electrified by 2028, with light hybrid versions launching in 2027.
Seat S.A., which employs 13,000 people, aims for Cupra to reach a 3% European market share and enter the Middle East by 2027. Cupra's expanding lineup now includes the Tavascan electric SUV and the Born, as the firm shifts focus toward higher-growth segments.
