[Spain](<https://spainnews.co.uk/entity/spain-q29>) faces a weekend of severe weather on 3 and 4 October 2026 as a trough accentuates over the country. A DANA could form west of the peninsula by Sunday, potentially remaining until midweek. Saturday afternoon brings storms to northern Aragon, Catalonia, Teruel and Castellón. Warnings include rainfall of 250 litres per square metre over a twelve-hour period.

Intense conditions will shift towards the Cantabrian Mountains and the Iberian System on Sunday. With [Mediterranean sea](<https://spainnews.co.uk/entity/mediterranean-sea-q4918>) temperatures reaching 26 degrees Celsius—4 degrees above the seasonal norm—these high temperatures are fueling the significant rainfall.
