> Spain marks its 2026 National Day with a nationwide public holiday on Monday, following the feast of the Virgin of the Pillar.

**Spain** celebrates its National Day, also known as **Hispanic Day**, on 12 October. In 2026, this non-substitutable national holiday falls on a Monday, ensuring a non-working day across all autonomous communities, provinces, and the cities of Ceuta and Melilla.

The date coincides with the feast of the **Virgin of the Pillar**, the patron saint of **Zaragoza**, Aragon, the **Civil Guard**, and Correos. While regions can typically only move this holiday if it falls on a Sunday, the 2026 calendar confirms a nationwide Monday break.

This follows the Valencian Community day on Friday 9 October. Looking ahead, the next national holiday after 12 October 2026 is All Saints' Day; as 1 November falls on a Sunday, the public holiday will be observed on Monday 2 November throughout the country.
