Spain has confirmed nine mandatory national holidays for 2026 in the Boletín Oficial del Estado. On 12 October, the country marks Fiesta Nacional, or Día de la Hispanidad, commemorating Christopher Columbus's 1492 discovery of America as per Law 18/1987.

In the Valencian Community, Friday 9 October 2026 is a regional holiday. Known as Día de la Comunitat Valenciana, it celebrates King James I's 1238 entry into the city. Mayor María José Catalá oversees the city where this 1982 institutionalised event occurs.

The Ministry of Labour's 2026 calendar concludes with holidays on 8 and 25 December. Looking ahead to 2027, key dates include Good Friday on 26 March and 12 October falling on a Tuesday, alongside Monday holidays on 1 November and 6 December for the public.
