# Spain faces heatwave before weekend DANA arrival 14 October 2026 at 20:42 > Unseasonably high temperatures across Spain will plummet this weekend as a DANA brings rain, storms, and mountain snow to the peninsula. **Spain** is currently experiencing unusually stable weather, with temperatures sitting between 5 and 10 degrees Celsius above the seasonal norm. A powerful anticyclonic ridge and an extremely hot air mass are driving these unseasonably warm conditions nationwide. **Rubén del Campo** of **Aemet** reports no warnings for Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday. **Seville** and Cordoba may reach 34C, while northern areas like Ourense could exceed 30C. However, a significant drop is expected on Friday as a front brings rain to the north. A DANA is forecast to arrive over the weekend of 17-18 October 2026, causing a sharp temperature plunge. Central Spain will drop to 19C, while snow is possible in the **Pyrenees** and Cantabrian Mountains. Intense showers are expected in the Mediterranean area.
