# Spain faces sharp temperature drop and storms 2 November 2026 at 15:51 > Aemet forecasts heavy rain for the Mediterranean and Canary Islands as freezing temperatures and snow arrive across Spain this week. The **State Meteorological Agency** (Aemet) predicts increased weather instability and falling temperatures for the first week of November 2026. Strong showers and storms will hit the **Canary Islands** on Monday, with moderate rain expected along the Levantine coast. Very strong, persistent showers are forecast for the **Mediterranean**, Catalan coast, and Balearic Islands on Tuesday and Wednesday. Snow will arrive in the **Pyrenees** and **Iberian System** above 1500 metres, while inland areas face frost as temperatures drop sharply. Maximum temperatures will fall across the northern half and eastern third of Spain. Soria will see lows of -4C, with -3C in Avila and Salamanca. By the weekend, Atlantic storms may bring further rain to the west, following widespread minimum temperature drops.
