# Spain sets early election for 29 November 13 October 2026 at 09:29 > President Sánchez notes progressive mobilisation as polls suggest a potential majority for the PP and Vox alliance in the upcoming vote. Spain prepares for an early election on 29 November following a reception held by the King and Queen at the Royal Palace. President **Pedro Sánchez** reports a surge in progressive voter mobilisation, while PP leader **Alberto Núñez Feijóo** claims his bloc is secure. The **Supreme Court** has upheld a suspension of voting rights for 400,000 people naturalised under the 'law of grandchildren'. While Sánchez notes these citizens have voted since 2023, Feijóo maintains fluid contact with **Vox** leader **Santiago Abascal** in Ceuta. Polls currently suggest a majority for the PP and Vox alliance as Abascal’s party continues to rise. Feijóo expects over 8 million votes, rejecting a 'sanitary cordon' for Vox, despite Sánchez claiming the opposition is starting the campaign with nerves.
