Spain's State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has announced a significant rise in temperatures across the country starting Monday, 21 September 2026. High pressure will bring generalized stability, with clear skies and scarce rainfall across the Peninsula.
Values between 32 and 34 degrees Celsius will persist until Friday, while southern Galicia, the Ebro depression, and the Guadalquivir valley will exceed 35 degrees. Western peninsula valleys may reach 38 degrees, with tropical nights expected in the south.
While most regions remain dry, isolated showers are possible on the southeastern coast and near the Strait of Gibraltar. Haze is forecast for the Canary Islands, though the heatwave will intensify in the southern Atlantic slope and the Balearic Islands.
