Sumar parties to launch Frente Amplio brand

Movimiento Sumar and its allies will present the Frente Amplio brand on 17 October, prioritising housing policy for the general elections.

The parties comprising Sumar have scheduled the public presentation of Frente Amplio for 17 October. This new brand is intended for the upcoming general elections, with Movimiento Sumar, Izquierda Unida, Más Madrid, and the Comunes all joining the project.

While the coalition participates in the current government, a candidate for La Moncloa is yet to be determined. Names including Pablo Bustinduy, Ernest Urtasun, Ada Colau, and Mónica García are circulating as the parties negotiate their electoral formula.

Frente Amplio has placed housing at the centre of its roadmap following the defeat of two government housing decrees in Congress by PP, Vox, and Junts. This follows nationwide mobilisations held on Saturday to demand urgent solutions to the housing crisis.
