Castilla-La Mancha was the only region to improve its 2022 results, rising 10 points in Science to 485. Conversely, the Valencian Community fell to the bottom of national rankings in Science and Maths, recording significant drops of 33 and 38 points.
The OECD excluded Catalonia due to student selection bias, while Spain overall provided the largest sample size. Results highlight a sharp decline in Reading for the Basque Country, which now ranks last, despite its high adoption of the euskera teaching model.
