The Ministry of Industry has intervened to mediate in the ongoing strike after the company halted talks at the SIMA with non-striking unions. Industry Minister contacted CCOO and UGT on 3 September, scheduling a meeting for 12:30 on 4 September.
The industrial action, which began on 1 July and resumed on 24 August, follows cuts to remote work and lost purchasing power. Although Airbus offered a 5% pay rise for 2026-27 and a 2,000 euro payment, 81% of workers rejected pausing the strike to negotiate.
Secretary of State Jordi García Brustenga expressed concern over the deadlock on 1 September. The current offer aims to restore 7.6% of the 9% lost purchasing power while maintaining existing remote work and vacation schemes, but a final agreement remains elusive.
