National Police launched a major operation on the morning of 27 September 2026 to evict migrants settled near the Ceuta desalination plant. Over 300 officers are dismantling camps located by Trampolín beach, relocating individuals to the Fábrica del Guano area.
The action coincides with National Court proceedings led by Judge María Tardón into the mass border entries of 30 July and 31 July. Ceuta President Juan Jesús Vivas will testify on Wednesday, followed by the head of the Local Police and other officials on Thursday.
Gonzalo Sanz, former chief of staff to the Government Delegate, is also summoned. Sanz claims the CNI issued a warning one day before tens of thousands crossed the border. The investigation seeks to clarify the circumstances surrounding this significant event.
