The Partido Popular has criticised the Government for failing to address housing issues for eight years following the Council of Ministers' approval of two new decrees. An extraordinary plenary session is scheduled for Friday to validate these measures.
Spokesperson Ester Muñoz stated the Government has not contacted the party to negotiate or provide information. The PP claims the decrees will reduce supply and exclude families and the elderly, questioning the urgency as decrees take effect immediately.
On 10 September, the PP submitted a proposal to repeal the Housing Law, tackle squatting, and lower VAT on apartment purchases. Their plan also included promoting guarantees for young people to buy their first homes, offering an alternative to current policy.
