The Congress of Deputies approved a motion by the PP on Wednesday, 23 September 2026, to censure the Minister of Education, Milagros Tolón. The motion urges President Pedro Sánchez to dismiss Tolón following poor educational results in the OECD PISA Report.
Parliament also backed a requirement for the Government to adopt measures for the return of individuals who entered Ceuta illegally in July. This specific initiative, alongside student welfare measures in the city, received support from both Vox and Junts.
Despite the censure, MPs rejected PP and Vox proposals to reverse the PISA decline. The PP further requested the restitution of 310 million euros transferred from Education to the Ministry of Presidency in July, amid debates over Lomloe and Lomce curricula.
