The Audiencia Nacional has provisionally halted the installation of a migrant camp in the Port of Ceuta. This follows a contentious-administrative appeal filed by the Sindicato Unificado de Policía against the construction order agreed upon on 5 September.
The Eighth Section of the Contentious-Administrative Chamber has prohibited the Ministry of Transport from enabling the site. The court is yet to rule on the police union's appeal or the request to suspend the measure on a 'cautelarísima' basis at this time.
Minister Óscar Puente has been warned that the Ministry cannot execute the installation until a judicial decision is reached. This legal intervention ensures the port project remains frozen while the court resolves the pending request to suspend the order.
