Renault to invest €600m in Spanish EV production

Renault Group's futuREady plan brings five new models and 100% electric vehicle manufacturing to its Palencia and Valladolid facilities.

Renault Group has announced a 600 million euro investment in Spain between 2026 and 2030 under its new futuREady plan. CEO Christian Stein confirmed the strategy involves five new models across the Valladolid and Palencia sites, backed by public subsidies.

The Palencia plant will produce 100% electric vehicles for the first time in its 75-year history using the RGEV Medium 2.0 platform. This 800-volt architecture offers a 750km WLTP range and 10-minute charging, with a new battery line planned for Valladolid.

This industrial expansion aims to protect over 6,000 direct jobs following a collective bargaining agreement for 2026-2028. The project, supported by the Spanish Government and Junta de Castilla y León, secures the future of C-segment electric production.
