Supreme Court sets 48-hour deadline for CERA case

The Supreme Court gives parties until Thursday to submit allegations on 'ley de nietos' registrations in the CERA before general elections.

The Contentious-Administrative Chamber of the Supreme Court has granted parties a non-extendable 48-hour window to submit allegations regarding the registration of 'ley de nietos' beneficiaries in the CERA. The deadline is set for 3:00 PM this Thursday.

This follows new documentation filed by Iustitia Europa and Vox, alongside an appeal from the State Attorney's Office against a precautionary suspension of registrations ordered in September. The court will now address all raised issues in a joint resolution.

The final ruling will determine the status of individuals already registered and those summoned who obtained Spanish nationality via the 'Ley de nietos' but remain unregistered. This decision is critical ahead of the general elections on 29 November.
