Urbagestión Desarrollo e Inversión has proposed incorporating a flat at Calle del Alcalde Sainz de Baranda, 46, into Madrid City Council's Reviva program. The firm offered to cede the Retiro district property, purchased for 247,000 euros, to the EMVS on 25 September 2026.
The Reviva Plan recovers vacant private housing for affordable rental, with the EMVS managing the property while owners receive monthly rent. Owners can access 45,000 euros in interest-free renovation financing, provided rents are set 15% to 20% below market rates.
Urbagestión confirmed the flat is not for sale, despite purchase enquiries from pianist James Rhodes. The company stated it previously offered a contract at 50% below market price in 2023. Current resident Maricarmen Abascal remains hospitalised following eviction.
