Florentino Pérez to visit Ceuta this Friday

Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez will meet President Juan Jesús Vivas in Ceuta to reinforce ties following recent club controversy.

Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez will visit Ceuta on Friday, 18 September 2026. Accompanied by Emilio Butragueño and honorary president José Martínez Sánchez 'Pirri', the delegation is scheduled to be received by President Juan Jesús Vivas at 11:30.

The visit follows a crisis beginning on 30 July 2026. It comes after Kylian Mbappé, Vinicius Jr and Ibrahima Konaté did not fully wear 'Todos somos caballas' support shirts before an Elche match. Mbappé told As he sought to show solidarity with lost migrants.

Club sources state the trip was planned weeks ago to show support for the city. The presence of Pirri is significant, as the honorary president was born in Ceuta in 1945. The official reception at the City Hall aims to reinforce ties during this period.
