Spain confirms Holy Week dates for 2027

Spain announces the 2027 Holy Week schedule from 21 to 28 March, with Good Friday designated as a national holiday on 26 March.

Spain has confirmed its schedule for the 2027 Holy Week, which will run from Sunday 21 March to Sunday 28 March. This follows the 2026 dates of 29 March to 5 April. Good Friday, falling on 26 March 2027, is designated as a national labour holiday across Spain.

The timing of Easter is determined by the Council of Nicaea's 325 AD method, placing Easter Sunday on the first Sunday after the first ecclesiastical full moon following 21 March. Consequently, the holiday can occur any time between 22 March and 25 April.

These dates dictate the national holiday calendar, including Maundy Thursday and Palm Sunday. While Good Friday is a nationwide day off, Maundy Thursday and Easter Monday vary by region. Other fixed holidays include 12 October, 8 December and 25 December.
