Prime Minister signed the Declaration on the draft Royal Decree of the Statute of the University Student on Monday. The agreement, involving the , university rectors, and student bodies, formalises new rights for two million students.
The Statute mandates that universities provide accommodation and psychological assistance. On Tuesday, the will approve 45 million euros for seven projects, creating nearly 2,000 new places to bolster the existing 132,000-bed capacity.
New measures include free mental health care, suicide prevention protocols, and protections against harassment. The framework also secures the right to academic strike, part-time study options for workers, and guarantees regarding digital data and security.
