The Spanish Ministry of the Interior has requested the urgent cancellation of a friendly football match between Spain's Under-20 national team and Mexico, scheduled for 30 September in Ceuta. Officials cited intense migratory pressure and social conflict.
The General Commissariat of Citizen Security informed the RFEF that security cannot be guaranteed due to a climate of tension near the Alfonso Murube stadium. Police noted the venue lacks an Organizational Control Unit and they were only given 12 days' notice.
While the RFEF intended the match to support local residents, the Ministry lacks the resources for an extraordinary security operation. The federation must now find an alternative venue, though a separate match between Ceuta and Valladolid remains unopposed.
