Spain's wealthiest neighbourhoods top €100,000

New tax data reveals La Moraleja remains Spain's richest district as income gaps widen between the nation's wealthiest and poorest areas.

The Spanish Tax Agency released 2024 income statistics on 8 October 2026, revealing that thirteen Spanish neighbourhoods recorded average annual incomes exceeding 100,000 euros. La Moraleja in Madrid remains the wealthiest, averaging 235,556 euros per person.

Data shows a 224,000-euro gap between La Moraleja and Seville's Torreblanca, which averaged 11,560 euros. Significant growth was noted in Murcia's Santa Cruz district, up 258%, and A Coruna's Ciudad Vieja-Centro, while Basque and Navarre regions were excluded.

The figures highlight extreme wealth disparities across major municipalities. While La Moraleja's average income rose by 20%, several districts like Nou Alacant and Carrus-Plaza de Barcelona remained below 20,000 euros, reflecting a divided economic landscape.
