A magnitude 3.5 earthquake struck the Region of Murcia at 11:04 hours today, with the National Geographic Institute (IGN) locating the epicenter between Sucina and San Javier. The tremor occurred at a depth of 6.0km and was felt across the regional capital.
Emergency services at 1-1-2 received 30 calls from the Murcia municipality following the event. This follows a magnitude 3.9 quake on 2 August at 11:59 hours, which lasted several seconds and reached intensity level 4 in Javalí Nuevo, Mula, and La Puebla.
While Google systems initially estimated the August tremor at 4.5, official IGN records confirmed a 3.9 magnitude. That previous incident caused no reported damage, and authorities continue to monitor seismic activity across these specific Murcian districts.
